PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Darnell Washington was unexpectedly added to the team’s injury report on Wednesday with a foot injury.

Washington did not practice in the team’s first session of the week leading up to Sunday’s Week 10 showdown with the Los Angeles Chargers.

He was not listed in the injury rundown by head coach Mike Tomlin on Tuesday, but Tomlin did say the team had some players dealing with bumps and bruises from Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers.

Washington finished that game without apparent injury, catching four passes for 43 yards.

The third-year tight end has become a much bigger part of the Pittsburgh offense this season, catching 13 passes for 127 yards on the season. The team’s jumbo package featuring Washington and extra offensive lineman Spencer Anderson has been a force in the run game, as well.
