Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Jonnu Smith suffered a new injury to his glute, which limited him in practice on Friday, then team announced.

Smith had been a full participant in the team’s first practice session on the Wild Card week on Thursday at UPMC Rooney Sports Complex, but was limited on Friday. He was the only injured player on the 53-man roster to be less than a full participant on Friday.

Smith will have one more chance to get back to full health during the team’s final practice of the week on Saturday.

The Steelers are already without Darnell Washington at the tight end position. Pat Freiermuth and Connor Heyward are the other two options on the 53-man roster, while Matt Sokol and Jaheim Bell are on the practice squad.

Running back Jaylen Warren returned to practice in full after missing practice on Thursday with an undisclosed illness. Defensive tackle Cam Heyward was a limited participant due to rest for the second straight day.
