The Pittsburgh Steelers continue to struggle on the shores of Lake Erie against the Cleveland Browns. After Sunday’s 13-6 loss, the Steelers are now 1-6-1 against the Browns in Cleveland since 2018.
It’s also another awful Browns team that the Steelers lost to. The 2025 Browns were the worst of the bunch, coming into Sunday’s came with a 3-12 record.
The Steelers also tied a dreadful NFL record in the loss.
The Steelers are winless (0-4-1) in their past five games against teams entering 8+ games below .500, tying the longest such streak in NFL history, according to Doug Clawson of CBS Sports.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin dropped to 27-7 against rookie quarterbacks with Sunday’s loss to the Browns and Shedeur Sanders. Sanders joins Brandon Weeden (2012) and Dorian Thompson-Robinson (2023) as Browns’ rookie quarterbacks to beat Tomlin.
Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers had his worst statistical performance of the season, finishing 21 of 39 for 168 yards. He did not throw an interception, but was sacked twice, fumbled once and maintained a mere 64.9 passer rating.
Rodgers was without three of his top targets in DK Metcalf (suspension), Calvin Austin III (hamstring) and Darnell Washington, who left the game in the first quarter with a broken arm and did not return.
Rodgers’ leading receiver was tight end Pat Freiermuth, who had one catch entering the final drive of the game and finished with three catches for 63 yards.
The Steelers’ loss will set up a winner-take-all Week 18 game for the AFC North between the Steelers and Ravens at Acrisure Stadium. The date and time of that game has not been announced.
The Steelers-Ravens game in Week 18 will be the first winner-take-all meeting (winner makes playoffs, loser eliminated) in the final week of the regular season in the history of this rivalry.
