The Steelers left Jacksonville Saturday night with a win to open their preseason schedule. Even better news was the short injury report.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin, speaking to the media following the team’s 31-25 win, said Pittsburgh finished the game “virtually injury free.”

Tomlin said cornerback Cameron McCutcheon was the lone Steeler to be pulled from the game due to injury against the Jaguars, citing a “soft tissue injury, maybe a hamstring that needs to be evaluated.”

McCutcheon intercepted a pass in the second half, but it was called back due to a roughing the passer penalty.

The 6’1, 204-pound cornerback joined the Steelers as a futures contract in January.

While McCutcheon was the only Steeler to suffer an injury against the Jaguars, several players were held out of the game due to injuries, including rookie quarterback Will Howard, outside linebacker Alex Highsmith, wide receiver Calvin Austin III, and cornerbacks Cory Trice Jr. and Donte Kent.
