PITTSBURGH — The 2025 season is only one week old, but Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker Alex Highsmith has already suffered two injuries.

Highsmith missed the entire preseason with a groin injury that occurred during training camp during a 1 on 1 drill against an offensive lineman. He recovered from that injury in time to return for Week 1, when he had a sack in the season opener against the New York Jets.

Now he has another injury, with Highsmith being limited in practice on Friday with an ankle injury. He does not have an injury status for the game, and is expected to play, but he might be limited by the injury.

Backup Nick Herbig will be dressed after missing Week 1 with a hamstring injury.
