The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed offensive lineman Jack Driscoll from the practice squad to the 53-man roster, the team announced on Wednesday.
Driscoll was elevated to the active roster from the PS the last three games. With the third elevation, Driscoll had to be signed to the 53-man roster to play again.
Driscoll, a fourth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, spent five seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles. He’s played in 67 games during his career, including 18 starts. The Steelers’ offensive line has dealt with attrition lately, which has vaulted fourth-stringer Dylan Cook into action at left tackle.
The Steelers have also been without starting left guard Isaac Seumalo (triceps) the last two games. Seumalo could return for Sunday night’s pivotal win-or-go-home game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Driscoll has ties to Steelers assistant general manager Andy Weidl, who was the vice president of player personnel for the Eagles when Driscoll was drafted.
Driscoll started one game for the Eagles last year. He won a Super Bowl championship when the Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 40–22 in Super Bowl LIX. He played most of his snaps at right tackle and right guard in Philadelphia.
In a corresponding move, the Steelers placed tight end Darnell Washington (broken left wrist) on the reserve/injured list. The team also signed tight end Jaheim Bell to the practice squad.
