The Pittsburgh Steelers have made two roster moves ahead of their preseason opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
For starters, they signed quarterback Logan Woodside after the injury to rookie Will Howard. The Ohio State National Champion suffered a broken bone in his hand on Tuesday. The injury won’t require surgery, but he will miss the entire preseason. On top of that, the Steelers have also signed a former Pro Bowl offensive lineman.
Pittsburgh is former New Orleans Saints guard Andrus Peat, the team announced. The 2015 first-round pick out of Stanford spent the first nine years of his career with the New Orleans Saints, appearing in three straight Pro Bowls from 2018-20. He spent the 2024 season with the Las Vegas Raiders, appearing in 15 games and starting one.
Peat has played just under 2,000 snaps at left tackle for his career, and over 4,100 at guard. He played predominantly at left tackle in 2023 with New Orleans.
