The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed wide receiver Levi Wentz to a one-year contract, the team announced on Monday.

Wentz originally signed with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent following the 2026 NFL Draft.

Wentz played at three different schools in college — Old Dominion, Albany and Kansas. At Kansas in 2025, he recorded 16 receptions for 258 yards and two touchdowns in 12 games. That was his lone season with the Jayhawks.

He transferred from Albany, where he appeared in 24 games and had 53 receptions with two touchdowns. Wentz played at Old Dominion from 2021 to 2022 before transferring to Albany.

Wentz is a Pittsburgh native. He played his high school ball at Pine-Richland.

Wentz scored a 6.46 Relative Athletic Score out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 1486 out of 4190 WR from 1987 to 2026.

In a corresponding move, the Steelers released linebacker Daylan Carnell and punter Aidan Laros.

Carnell was signed as an undrafted free agent after the 2026 NFL Draft.

Carnell, who stands at 6-foot-2, 233 pounds, recorded 175 career tackles, 19.5 tackles for loss, 22 passes defended, five interceptions, four forced fumbles and three sacks in his five seasons at Missouri. Carnell played a hybrid safety/linebacker role in Missouri’s defense the last three years. He also returned two interceptions for touchdowns in his career.

In 2025, Carnell made 12 starts and played in all 13 games. He posted 41 tackles (22 solo) with 6.5 for loss … Picked off one pass and batted four others down. The Indianapolis native was a three-year starter at Missouri.

The Steelers claimed Laros off waivers from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week.

Laros, a Capetown, South Africia native, was an undrafted free agent out of Kentucky. He averaged 44.5 yards per punt last year. In his collegiate career, he had 134 punts for 6,137 yards with a 45.8 career average.

Laros played two seasons at the University of Kentucky, after spending time at Charlotte and University of Tennessee at Martin.

In his final season at Kentucky, he handled punts and kickoffs and was on the Ray Guy watch list. He was ranked seventh in the SEC and 31st nationally in punting.
