The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed former Arizona Cardinals defensive lineman Anthony Goodlow to their practice squad, the team announced on Tuesday. Goodlow worked out for the Steelers last week.
With Derrick Harmon (knee) ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills, the Steelers are rather thin on the defensive line. Goodlow could be a candidate to get elevated to the 53-man roster prior to Sunday’s game.
Goodlow spent time on the Arizona Cardinals practice squad the last two seasons, and was elevated to the active/Inactive roster for three games in 2025. He recording three combined tackles, one tackle for loss, and one quarterback hit in those three games. He was released by Arizona on Nov. 18.
Goodlow played in 14 games for Oklahoma State as a super senior in 2023. He received honorable mention honors from the Big 12 coaches for Defensive Newcomer of the Year, Defensive Lineman of the Year and All-Big 12. He led all OSU defensive linemen with 42 tackles on the year, including 18 solo stops. His 7.0 tackles for loss were fourth on the team and first among defensive linemen.
Goodlow began his college career at Tulsa. He appeared in a total of 48 games, with 22 starts, in his college career.
Goodlow went undrafted out of Oklahoma State in the 2024 NFL Draft. He signed with the Los Angeles Rams as an UFA and appeared in three games last season for the Rams, recording three total tackles and tackle for loss in the preseason. He was waived/injured on Aug. 27, then released from injured reserve with a settlement on Sept. 6. He signed with the Cardinals’ practice squad on Oct. 30.
“Goodlow has good size and great length but is much more eventual than sudden in his movements,” NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein wrote in a 2024 scouting report. “He rarely wins in gaps and is unable to create early threats as an upfield rusher. He’s not a natural knee-bender, so he has a hard time setting a firm anchor at the point of attack. He does have the natural strength to battle and strain. Goodlow is below average as a reduced rusher inside, so he might have to compete for as a backup spot as an odd-front defensive end to make a squad.”
