PITTSBURGH — If Cam Heyward isn’t planning to play in the Pittsburgh Steelers’ season opener against the New York Jets on Sunday, he’s doing a bad job of showing it. Heyward was once again at practice on Wednesday as the team started its preparations in earnest for Sunday’s debut in New York.
Heyward was joined on the field by outside linebacker Nick Herbig, who was wearing pads at practice — a positive sign for his return to action. Head coach Mike Tomlin called Herbig, who has been dealing with a hamstring injury suffered in the second preseason game, questionable to play this week.
