PITTSBURGH — New cornerback Tre Flowers took part in his second practice with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Friday at UPMC Rooney Sport Complex — and he might be playing in his first game this Sunday, if the participation around him is any indication.
While Flowers was getting his second session with the Steelers defense, fellow defensive backs Jalen Ramsey (illness), James Pierre (calf) and Brandin Echols (groin) did not take part in the below individual drill, and their status for Sunday is up in the air.
Flowers has played 97 games over the course of his career, but has not played that much in the slot, where the Steelers are especially thin if Echols and Ramsey can’t play. Practice squad members Daryl Porter Jr. and D’Shawn Jamison are other options in the slot.
