PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers had new strong safety Jabrill Peppers in the building and on the practice field, just hours after officially announcing his signing on Wednesday.

Peppers signed with the Steelers after being released by the New England Patriots just after final cuts at the end of August. He will help the team replace DeShon Elliott, who is out this week with an MCL injury suffered against the New York Jets in Week 1.

Peppers will wear No. 40 with the Steelers.
