PITTSBURGH — Cam Heyward’s hold-in for a new deal doesn’t appear to be having any negative effects with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The veteran defensive lineman, the longest-tenured player on Mike Tomlin’s team, talked with teammates and the head coach before Tuesday’s practice at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex.
Heyward practiced in pads for the first time since word of his desire for a new contract surfaced.
Steelers wide receiver Calvin Austin III (abdomen) and cornerback Cory Trice (hamstring) are also working their way back from injuries.
