Fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers may scoff at the latest NFL mock draft from CBS Sports.
While mock drafts are known for featuring outlandish narratives, the Pittsburgh Steelers passing on Colorado Buffaloes QB Shedeur Sanders takes it to an extreme.
Although Sanders falling out of the top 10 is surprising in its own right, Tom Fornelli of CBS Sports predicts the Steelers would pass on selecting him with the 21st overall pick, instead favoring Texas CB Jahdae Barron.
Here’s what Fornelli had to say about the pick:
“It’s not that I don’t like this WR class; it’s that I’m not convinced there’s a surefire first-round pick after McMillan and Burden. So instead of the Steelers going WR here like I did in my first mock draft, they address a need at corner with the Jim Thorpe Award winner.”
Sanders’ slide would end with the next pick, as Fornelli predicts the Browns would trade up with the Chargers to bring his talents to Cleveland.
Would the Pittsburgh Steelers really pass on Sanders to draft a CB to pair with Joey Porter Jr., or is this mock draft way off the mark?
