PITTSBURGH — Veteran safety Chuck Clark is among the Pittsburgh Steelers’ five inactives for Sunday afternoon’s home matchup with the Cleveland Browns.

The other players who won’t dress are receiver Calvin Austin III, guard Andrus Peat, defensive lineman Logan Lee and defensive end DeMarvin Leal. Clark’s designation likely means Jabrill Peppers will see more work after not playing a defensive snap during the Steelers’ win over the Minnesota Vikings in Dublin.

During the Steelers’ victory over the New England Patriots, Peppers’ former team, in Week 3, he

“The way I play — my violence, my passion for the game — I definitely think any team can use that,” Peppers said afterward. “I just gotta keep getting better, honing (in) on the minute details, keep jelling with the guys and I think we’ve got a pretty good group here.”

For someone who, as Mike Tomlin says, jumped on a moving train, joining the Steelers after DeShon Elliott was injured in Week 1, Peppers has meshed well thus far.

“I thought he played with great energy and communication,” Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said after the Patriots game. “For a guy that’s new, his level of communication is unique in terms of adjustments and so forth. But he’s a veteran. He’s got a good passion for the game, a good relationship with the game, and certainly it’s good to win.”

Clark has made two starts this season, accounting for 25 total tackles and a forced fumble.
