There’s a strong belief that one of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ rivals will host the Lombardi Trophy this season.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have aspirations of hoisting their seventh Vince Lombardi Trophy this season, but there is a strong belief around the league that it will be one of their rivals doing so.
The Baltimore Ravens were picked by 16 of 29 NFL.com voters to win Super Bowl LX.
“Finally, Lamar Jackson and what might be the league’s most complete roster get their Super Bowl,” Judy Battista wrote.
That would certainly be a tough pill to swallow for the Steelers, who have had a lot of success against the Ravens as of late, winning eight of the past 11 meetings. However, it is Baltimore that has had the last laugh.
The Ravens sent the Steelers home in the wild-card round of the playoffs last season in a 28-14 defeat, and the score didn’t even reflect how one-sided the contest was. Baltimore had its way with Pittsburgh all night, rushing for 299 yards.
In fact, the Steelers were so embarrassed that they dedicated the 2025 NFL Draft to making sure that it never happens again, double dipping at defensive tackle in Derrick Harmon and Yahya Black and selecting another run stopping linebacker in Jack Sawyer.
Only time will tell if it will be enough for Pittsburgh to get its revenge, but the rest of the NFL doesn’t think that will be the case.
The other 13 votes went to the Buffalo Bills (five), Kansas City Chiefs (three), Cincinnati Bengals (one), Denver Broncos (one), Green Bay Packers (one), Los Angeles Rams (one) and Philadelphia Eagles (one).
The Steelers are scheduled to face the Ravens in Weeks 14 and 18 this season.
