Steelers release preseason fan favorite in surprise move

The Pittsburgh Steelers have made several roster moves ahead of their final preseason game against the Carolina Panthers. They’ve signed offensive tackle Julian Pearl, long snapper Jake McQuaide, and cornerback Kam Alexander. In correspondence with those moves, the Steelers have released three players, as well.

The Steelers are letting go of defensive tackle Breiden Fehoko, linebacker Devin Harper, and wide receiver Roc Taylor. Taylor had a tremendous training camp and made plays in each of the first two preseason games, catching five passes for 77 yards.

The wide receiver battle now gets tighter. DK Metcalf, Roman Wilson, Calvin Austin, Ben Skowronek, and Scotty Miller all seem to have roster spots locked up. It will come down to Brandon Johnson, Ke’Shawn Williams, and Robert Woods for the final spot, assuming the Steelers keep six wideouts.
