One NFL analyst believes the Pittsburgh Steelers should be very cautious with quarterback Brendan Sorsby in the Supplemental Draft.

There has been a ton of buzz around former Texas Tech quarterback Brendan Sorsby since he announced he’s applying to enter the NFL Supplemental Draft. However, NFL analyst Rich Eisen doesn’t think there should be many teams interested in the once regarded first-round talent.

In fact, Eisen recently issued a warning to every team in the NFL about using any valuable draft capital on Sorsby.

“It’s buyer beware with the kid. You hear all the time, talent over everything. He’s very talented, and you’ve got to figure out what the everything else is,” Eisen said on The Rich Eisen Show.

Sorsby was one of the top rising prospects in the 2026 NFL Draft class while throwing for 2,800 yards, 27 touchdowns and just five interceptions, leading the Big 12 with a 13.5 yards-per-completion average last season. But he ultimately decided to return to college — a decision he has likely come to regret.

Since then, he has been stripped of his NCAA eligibility after his gambling issues surfaced.

Only time will tell which teams could be interested in Sorsby, but Eisen seems to believe there’s a chance he could receive a suspension from the NFL, too.

“Terrelle Pryor once upon a time had a five-game suspension thrown on him,” Eisen continued. “ The NFL was like, ‘If you want a supplemental draft, you’ve got to serve the five games in the NFL.’ Now, I don’t know if they’re gonna handle that with Sorsby in the same way.”

In April, Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer named the New York Jets, Arizona Cardinals, Cleveland Browns and Miami Dolphins as teams “that have kept the powder dry on really going all in on a quarterback in anticipation of next year.”

Meanwhile, the Steelers seem to be content with the current state of their quarterback room of Aaron Rodgers, Mason Rudolph, Will Howard and rookie Drew Allar.
