Steelers Now Steelers Now

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson has been named to the 2025 NFL Pro Bowl Games, replacing Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, who is unable to participate due to injury. It’s Wilson’s 10th Pro Bowl appearance, tied for 5th-most among quarterbacks in NFL history.

Wilson wrote on X, “God is Good!!! 10th Pro Bowl.”

Wilson joins six other Pittsburgh players named to the Pro Bowl in kicker Chris Boswell, safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, defensive tackle Cameron Heyward, linebacker T.J. Watt, Miles Killebrew and Isaac Seumalo. Killebrew and Seumalo also were replacements.

Watt pulled out of the Pro Bowl due to injury, while Steelers special teamer Miles Killebrew will serve as an injury replacement for New England Patriots special teamer Brenden Schooler. Isaac Seumalo replaced Kansas City Chiefs guard Trey Smith, who will play in the Super Bowl.

Wilson had a stellar start once taking over in Week 7, but he declined down the stretch during the Steelers’ five-game losing streak to end the season. The Steelers failed to score more than 17 points during the five-game stretch, a streak that hasn’t occurred since Chuck Noll’s first season in 1969.

Wilson has already expressed his desire to return to playing for the Steelers in 2025, but his status with the team seems up in the air.

A report by Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated last week said the team grew frustrated with Wilson down the stretch run, but would love to keep working with Justin Fields, who started the first six games of the season while Wilson was hurt.
