BALTIMORE — After faking out the Baltimore Ravens’ defense — and most of M&T Bank Stadium — Aaron Rodgers scampered in for a 1-yard touchdown, his first with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The veteran quarterback and recently maligned head coach, Mike Tomlin both dusted off the latter’s “discount double check” celebration.
Rodgers popularized the championship-belt scoring move during his time with the Green Bay Packers. It was named such because of his acting in State Farm commercials, referring to the kickbacks the company provided for various reasons, including safe driving.

Rodgers and the insurance company parted ways in 2023 after a 12-year partnership. He began endorsing State Farm during the same year he won his first and only Super Bowl title, beating the Steelers to do so.
Per Sportico, Rodgers’ deal with the company was one of the highest-valued endorsement deals in the NFL, earning him an estimated $3 million per year.
Earlier in the scoring drive, Rodgers hit DK Metcalf for a 52-yard gain, vaulting the Steelers deep into enemy territory. Rodgers, who’s been dealing with a left wrist fracture, took the snap from under center on the doorstep, faked a give to Jaylen Warren and outraced anyone in purple to the left front pylon.
