After turning heads when given an opportunity in Green Bay this season, quarterback Malik Willis is expected to cash in this offseason. The Pittsburgh Steelers are among several teams that have major question marks at the quarterback position.

Willis could be an option for Pittsburgh, but it’s expected that he’ll reunite with Jeff Hafley in Miami.

“Willis made some coin with his performance in relief of Jordan Love in Green Bay, showing dual-threat ability that a new offensive mind could mold,” Jeremy Fowler of ESPN wrote.

“No regime will know Willis’ strengths better than Miami, which just hired a brain trust of GM Jon-Eric Sullivan and head coach Jeff Hafley from Green Bay. The Packers valued Willis’ development and Miami could bear the fruits of that labor.”

The Cleveland Browns are another possible landing spot for Willis.

“I just don’t think [the Browns] go into the season with Shedeur [Sanders] as their top option,” an NFC personnel man told Fowler. “And getting the right quarterback in the draft isn’t a guarantee based on where they pick.”

The Browns have the Nos. 6 and 24 picks in the first round of April’s draft.

Willis was a player that the Steelers were heavily linked to in the 2022 NFL Draft, but instead of selecting Willis, the team went with Kenny Pickett at 22nd overall. Willis ended up landing with the Tennessee Titans in the third round.

Willis never panned out in Tennessee, but he did show some progress with the Packers last season when given a chance to start. Willis completed 40 of 54 passes (74.1%) for 550 yards, three touchdowns, no interceptions, and a passer rating of 124.8 in the two games that he filled in for Jordan Love. The Packers won both games.

Willis was considered a project when coming out of Liberty, so slow development was expected. But the game appears to be slowing down for him.
