On Wednesday, all 32 NFL franchises were told that salary cap for the 2025 season was getting a significant bump and should be somewhere in the neighborhood of $277.5 million and $281.5 million. For the Pittsburgh Steelers, this puts them in an even better position financially for the upcoming season.
According to the smart folks at Over The Cap, the Steelers are currently sitting at $60.263 million in salary cap space for the 2025 season. The Steelers have a significant list of in-house free agents and an additional $20 million or more definitely gives the team some flexibility if they want to re-sign some players.
Cornerback Donte Jackson and running back Najee Harris are great examples of mid-tier free agents they could bring back and still pursue some top free agents at other positions of need.
With this projected increase, the NFL salary cap has increased by over $52 million in just the last two years.
