The Pittsburgh Steelers already seem primed to make a push for the playoffs.
Only time will tell if the Pittsburgh Steelers will finally end their postseason win drought this year, but early signs hint they’re at least going to get another shot to get their first playoff win in eight years.
Through the first four games of the 2025 season, the Steelers already have an 85.5% chance to make the playoffs, according to JPA. It is the second-best odds in the AFC and fifth-best in the entire league.

It may be a bit surprising given how close all three of Pittsburgh’s three wins were, with each being determined by seven or less points. Meanwhile, the team’s Week 2 loss to the Seattle Seahawks was a 14-point difference at home.
The Steelers playoff chances may not be entirely based on what they have done, though, but instead, what else has gone on around the league.
The AFC North seems wide open for the taking as the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns all have major question marks at quarterback, and the easiest way to make the playoffs is by winning the division.
Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson could be out for up to 2-3 weeks after suffering a hamstring injury last week. That bodes bad news for Baltimore, which has already gotten off to a disappointing 1-3 start.
Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is expected to miss at least three months with a turf toe injury that requires surgery, and they’ve looked lost in their first two games without him, being outscored 76-13 over the past two weeks and dropping to 2-2.
Then there’s the 1-3 Browns, who although are relatively healthy at the position, are stuck in quarterback purgatory. Cleveland announced it is benching veteran Joe Flacco in favor of third-round rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel this week.
Gabriel impressed during the preseason, completing 25 of his 37 passes (67.6%) for 272 yards, one touchdown and one interception. However, the regular season brings much more difficult competition, especially for rookies.
Pittsburgh’s path to the playoffs won’t be easy. Following the team’s Week 5 bye, it must play 13 straight games and it is already dealing with injuries. But if the Steelers can stay healthy and continuing grinding out wins, whether it’s pretty or not, it’s safe to assume they’ll be back in the dance this season.
