PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers inside linebacker Patrick Queen was named the 2025 winner of The Chief Award, which is voted on by the Pittsburgh Chapter of Pro Football Writers of America.

The award is given annually to a member of the Steelers organization that “best exemplifies the spirit of cooperation with the media” of team founder Arthur J. Rooney Sr. — who was nicknamed “The Chief.”

Queen won the award in just his second season with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He came over from the Baltimore Ravens as a free agent in 2024 offseason after spending his first four seasons in Baltimore after he was selected in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft out of LSU.

Queen has started every single game of his 100-game career, including 33 straight to start his tenure with the Steelers. In 16 games this season, he is second on the team with 118 tackles and also has eight tackles for loss, one sack, five quarterback hits, four passes defended, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

He has also made an impact off the field, giving Gold Star families tickets to a game at Acrisure Stadium this season and hosting them for a get-together beforehand.

“Yeah, it’s incredible, just taking however much time out of my day to be able to come do this,” he said. “I’d do it every single week if I could. It’s incredible what they go through and how they’re able to keep moving forward. I know some days are rougher than others, but hopefully this is a bright day in their lives.”
