The Steelers might be getting some inside linebacker help soon, as the team opened the 21-day practice window for Malik Harrison, Pittsburgh announced late Monday.

Harrison landed on injured reserve following a knee injury he suffered in Pittsburgh’s Week 1 win over the New York Jets. The run-stuffing defender signed with the Steelers in the 2025 offseason after starting his career with the Baltimore Ravens.

Harrison remains on injured reserve for now, but the Steelers have 21 days to re-add him to the active roster. If not, he’ll remain on IR for the rest of the season. He could be activated in time to play in Thursday Night Football against the Bengals, if he’s healthy enough.

With 1,256 career special teams snaps, Harrison could be a candidate to replace special teams ace Miles Killebrew, who Mike Tomlin said had a “significant” knee injury, on the Steelers roster.
