The oddsmakers believe the Pittsburgh Steelers have a good chance to end up in the loss column next week.

The Pittsburgh Steelers came away with their second win of the 2025 regular season in Week 3, defeating the New England Patriots 21-14. However, the oddsmakers don’t seem to believe they will find themselves back in the win column next week.

The Steelers have opened up as 1.5-point underdogs for the Week 4 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings in Dublin, Ireland.

The line is a bit surprising since Pittsburgh was a one-point favorite originally. Plus, the Vikings will be without starting quarterback J.J. McCarthy, who suffered a high ankle sprain in Week 2.

Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell revealed backup quarterback will start once again next week.

“[McCarthy] has responded well to the early part of the treatment,” O’Connell said, “but for a young player, I want to make sure that he’s healthy — especially a guy with the movement skills that he has and clearly shown in his first two [games]. We’re going to do right by him.”

Wentz did impress in Minnesota’s 48-10 blowout win over the Cincinnati Bengals, completing 14 of his 20 passes (70%) for 173 yards, two touchdowns, zero interceptions and a passer rating of 129.8.

Only time will tell if he will be able to stack a similar performance next week, but the Steelers are certainly hoping that isn’t the case.

Wentz is 1-1 in his career as a starter against Pittsburgh with both starts coming during his tenure with the Philadelphia Eagles. The last time Wentz played the Steelers was in 2020, a 38-29 loss at Heinz Field. He completed 20 of 35 passes (57.1%) for 258 passing yards, two touchdowns, two interceptions and a passer rating of 75.7.

The Steelers will dodge another major member of the Vikings offense in Week 4, too. Minnesota running back Aaron Jones will be sidelined after being placed on the injured reserve list last week.
