The oddsmakers believe the Pittsburgh Steelers will fall short against the Chicago Bears in Week 12.
The Pittsburgh Steelers were able to get back in the win column against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 11, but the oddsmakers don’t think they will stay there for very long.
The Steelers have opened up as 3-point underdogs for their Week 12 game against the Chicago Bears, according to odds posted by DraftKings Sportsbook. Pittsburgh has a +138 money line, and the over/under total for the game is 44.5 points.
It may be surprising to some after the Steelers just put up their second 30-point outing of the season against the Bengals, but the game seems to have come at a major cost.
Quarterback Aaron Rodgers exited the game late in the second quarter and never returned. It has since been revealed that he suffered a slight break in his left wrist and will underdgo further testing Monday to determine the full extent of the injury and how long he’ll be sidelined.
If those tests do, in fact, reveal that Rodgers will be sidelined this week, it will certainly make things more difficult for Pittsburgh.
Backup quarterback Mason Rudolph played well in his limited action on Sunday, completing 12 of 16 passes (75.%) for 127 yards, one touchdown, no interceptions, and a passer rating of 118.5. However, there’s no arguing he’s a better option than four-time NFL MVP Rodgers.
Rodgers wasn’t the only key player to leave the Steelers Week 11 win, either. Running back Jaylen Warren left the game with an ankle injury and defensive back Jalen Ramsey was ejected after throwing a punch at Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase.
Luckily, both players are expected to be back on the field in Chicago as Warren believes he could have returned to the game and Ramsey served his rest-of-game suspension on Sunday.
Both situations will be worth monitoring throughout the week, though. The Bears are entering the game atop their division with a 7-3 record.
