The Pittsburgh Steelers have been named as the best landing spot for free agent wide receiver Amari Cooper by Pro Football Focus.
PFF broke down the top landing spot for each of the outlet’s top 15 offensive players that are set to hit free agency in 2025, and listed the Steelers as the best spot for Cooper, the seventh-ranked offensive player on their board.
Cooper, 30, will be playing with the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship Game this weekend. He joined Buffalo on a mid-season trade from the Cleveland Browns in exchange for a third-round draft pick in 2025 and a seventh-round pick in 2026, with a 2025 sixth-rounder also going from Cleveland to Buffalo.
In eight regular-season games with the Bills, Cooper caught 20 passes for 297 yards and two touchdowns. In two playoff games so far, he has two catches for eight yards. Cooper also had 24 catches for 250 yards and two touchdowns in six games with Cleveland earlier this season, giving him 547 total for the 2024 regular season.
That’s a big step down from where he’s been recently. Cooper rattled off consecutive 1,000-yard seasons as the top receiving threat with the Browns in 2022 and 2023, earning his fifth Pro Bowl nod last season.
But in a fairly thin free agent class at wide receiver, Cooper might be on the of the best targets for the Steelers. PFF rated him as the third-best wide receiver in the free agent market, behind Cincinnati Bengals star Tee Higgins and Tampa Bay Buccaneers stalwart Chris Godwin. PFF predicts Higgins to go to the Los Angeles Chargers and Godwin to go to the Denver Broncos.
Other wide receivers in the top 15 include Stefon Diggs (Houston Texans, predicted to New York Giants) and DeAndre Hopkins (Kansas City Chiefs, predicted to New England Patriots).
