During an appearance on CNBC to talk about artificial intelligence, Pittsburgh Steelers minority owner Thomas Tull gave an honest assessment when asked about the Aaron Rodgers situation.

“I’m here to talk about AI, and that’s a more complex issue than artificial intelligence,” Tull said, who appeared to be joking.

The Rodgers situation has been quite complex and unusual, however. The franchise continues to wait on the four-time league MVP’s decision, which has been dragging along for nearly two months. Does he want to be a Steeler or not? Does he even want to play anymore? It certainly has many confused.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin understands the angst among the fanbase at the quarterback position, but he confirmed the team has a solid plan.

“We feel good about our plan at the position. I understand the angst in your community and the community that supports us,” Tomlin told Rich Eisen of NFL Network during the 2025 NFL Draft.

Tomlin said the Steelers had “really productive” talks with Rodgers, but declined to discuss the hypotheticals.

“We’re still kind of getting the same signals we’ve been getting recently that he does want to come here,” Steelers president Art Rooney II said during the draft. “I do think we may get word soon, obviously, with things starting to crank up here with the offseason programs. If he’s coming, we would like to get him here soon for some of that.”

On Tuesday, NFL insider James Palmer provided a promising update in regard to Rodgers landing in the Steel City.

Palmer wasn’t able to give any more insight as to when Rodgers will make his decision but hints things are still pointing towards him signing with the Steelers.

“Aaron Rodgers has remained in relatively constant contact with Mike Tomlin and the Steelers,” Palmer said on 93.7 The Fan.

Rodgers revealed on the Pat McAfee Show last month that he has been focused on dealing with personal matters this offseason.

“Right now my focus is, and has been, and will continue to be on my personal life,” he said.

But with no timeline yet to be set, it’s still unclear when this saga will finally end.

Like Tull said. It’s a complex situation.
