CHICAGO — After a Mason Rudolph fourth-quarter scramble drill, Pittsburgh Steelers left tackle Broderick Jones remained down for a few moments, walked off the field under his own power, then headed to the blue medical tent after spiking his helmet on the sideline. He emerged from the cover and headed to the locker room with a stinger.

The Steelers’ training staff was working on Jones’ back on the sideline before he ducked away. His return to the contest is questionable.

As Rudolph wriggled away from a Chicago Bears defender, Jones tried to fend off defensive lineman Dominique Robinson, who leaped into him awkwardly. Rudolph wound up launching the ball out of bounds in Roman Wilson’s direction. After Jones exited, he was replaced by Calvin Anderson beside guard Isaac Seumalo.

Jones, a third-year pro, was the Steelers’ first-round draft pick in 2023. He made the switch to left tackle this season after mainly playing on the other side a campaign ago. Including the outing against the Bears, he’s played in 45 games with Mike Tomlin’s team, including 38 starts.

The Steelers were driving down 10 points when Jones departed. A few plays later, a Kenneth Gainwell rushing touchdown was negated by a holding call.
