PITTSBURGH — After the Pittsburgh Steelers were gifted a free set of downs against the Miami Dolphins, guard Isaac Seumalo stayed down on one knee and was slow to get up. The veteran road-paver walked to the sideline under his own power and entered the blue medical tent.

Seumalo was announced to be dealing with a tricep injury. He was initially listed as doubtful to return before being downgraded to out.

Spencer Anderson replaced Seumalo as he went to get checked out. After a moment, Seumalo emerged from the tent with his helmet, stood on by teammates for a few plays, then went to the locker room after the third quarter ended.

Seumalo dealt with a pectoral ailment earlier in the season. Including Monday night, Seumalo has played in 13 games this season, starting all of them. He spent the first seven years of his career with the Philadelphia Eagles, who drafted him in the third round in 2016. He started over 60 games during that stretch with the Eagles.

The Steelers signed Seumalo to a three-year deal in free agency in 2023, also adding Nate Herbig that same offseason. Both of the guards the team had at the time — Kevin Dotson and James Daniels — have been replaced since then.
