The Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals orchestrated an in-division trade on Tuesday, with Cleveland sending quarterback Joe Flacco to Cincinnati. The Steelers face the Browns on Sunday, so they can now rule out the possibility of seeing Flacco enter the game like he did in 2024 while with the Indianapolis Colts. However, it looks like the Steelers will see Flacco in Week 7.
The Bengals are hoping to have Flacco ready to start on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers, which means they are moving forward with him as the starter for the foreseeable future. The Steelers face the Bengals in Week 7 on Thursday Night Football in Cincinnati. Considering the Steelers’ recent struggles in Thursday games, the Bengals getting a more competent quarterback ahead of that matchup could lead to a surprise win for the Bengals.
Flacco is 11-11 for his career against the Steelers with 27 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
