Kenny Pickett, Aaron Rodgers and Terry Bradshaw are all tied to the Steelers in very different ways

In a little bit of “one of these things is not like the others,” we have Pittsburgh Steelers legend Terry Bradshaw, former Steelers first round pick Kenny Pickett and could be, could not be Pittsburgh quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Pickett, now with the Cleveland Browns, is on his third team since being selected in the first round of the 2022 NFL draft. The Steelers drafted the Pitt Panthers QB higher than most had him projected, started Pickett in 24 games in his first two seasons, and then traded him off to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Rodgers continues to weigh his options which includes joining Pittsburgh, waiting for a better opportunity or retirement. Many are surprised that the Steelers organization would allow an aged player, with a couple of mediocre seasons recently, control their organziation.

Bradshaw is one of those people:

“That’s a joke. That to me is just a joke,” Bradshaw said. “What are you going to do? Bring him in for one year, are you kidding me? That guy needs to stay in California. Go somewhere and chew on bark and whisper to the gods out there.”

The Hall of Famer didn’t stop there, calling Pickett’s struggles the team’s failure not the player’s:

“Then they throw a kid in there for two years, and you’ve got an offense that doesn’t fit and doesn’t work, and they can’t run because their offensive line’s not even good enough for a run-blocking team. Now, they’re saying Kenny Pickett is a failure. He wasn’t a failure, the Steelers were a failure.”

Bradshaw spent all 14 years of his career wtih the Steelers including four Super Bowl championships, two Super Bowl MVPs and one NFL MVP.

Like Bradshaw, are you surprised the Steelers continue to allow Rodgers to dictate the terms in their relationship? Is there any chance the Pittsburgh legend is also right about Pickett’s struggles?
