The Pittsburgh Steelers have some catching up to do on the offensive side of the ball this offseason. That’s why Matt Miller of ESPN has them selecting playmaking teammates with their first- and second-round picks in his latest mock draft.
Miller first predicts that the Steelers will stick at pick No. 21 and be able to land Ohio State wide receiver Emeka Egbuka. He is the fourth wide receiver taken after Arizona’s Tetairoa McMillan went to the New Orlean Saints, Texas’ Matthew Golden to the Dallas Cowboys and Missouri’s Luther Burden III to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
“Egbuka does it all as a slant-route king. He is a heck of a punt returner and one of the best blocking wide receivers, too,” Miller writes. “The Steelers need to start thinking about rebuilding their wide receiver room if George Pickens doesn’t return after his rookie deal expires before the 2026 season. And regardless of Pickens’ future, the team could use a true No. 2 wide receiver right now. Pairing Egbuka with Pickens and 2024 rookie Roman Wilson would be a good start.”
Egbuka has been a popular name that has been tabbed to the Steelers in the 2025 NFL Draft, and rightfully so.
The 6-foot-1, 205-pound wide receiver has showcased his reliable hands with just a 2.8 percent drop rate. He also recorded a career-high 81 catches for 1,011 yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior on Ohio State’s national championship-winning team.
Egbuka could prove to be exactly what the Steelers need to help strengthen their offense, but he isn’t the only Buckeye Miller foresees wearing the black and gold.
Miller then predicts the Steelers will draft Ohio State running back Quinshon Judkins with their second-round pick (No. 53 overall).
“Najee Harris is set to hit free agency, and his return to Pittsburgh is far from guaranteed. Judkins would be an ideal replacement,” Miller writes. “He has the downhill power of Harris but better speed to rip off the chunk plays missing from the Steelers offense, as evidence by his 28 runs of 10 or more yards.”
While Steelers president Art Rooney II kept the door open for a return, Harris’ time in Pittsburgh seems to be nearing its end.
If that is the case, Judkins could be the perfect replacement for Harris and complement to running back Jaylen Warren.
The 21-year-old played a large part in Ohio State’s national championship run while rushing for 1,060 yards and 14 touchdowns. Pairing Judkins back up with his Buckeye teammate Egbuka could do wonders for the Steelers struggling offense.
