The Pittsburgh Steelers proved their doubters wrong in Week 9 as they were able to keep their lead in the AFC North.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are no longer the favorites to win the AFC North, but they did their best to prove those who believe that wrong in Week 9, along with getting a little help.

First and foremost, the Steelers took care of their business, upsetting the Indianapolis Colts 27-20 to end their two-game losing streak and increase their record to 5-3.

The Cincinnati Bengals then fell short in a shootout with the Chicago Bears to drop to 3-6 and into third place in the division after holding second place for the past several weeks.

That certainly helps Pittsburgh’s chances since Cincinnati currently holds the tie breaker after defeating the Steelers 33-31 in Week 7.

The two teams will face again in two weeks time, but if the Bengals continue to fall short like they have the last two weeks, it may not mean much for their chances of winning the AFC North.

However, the team the Steelers do have to keep an eye on is the Baltimore Ravens. After beginning the season 1-5 with quarterback Lamar Jackson sidelined, they have now won back-to-back games, sit in second place in the division and are the favorites to win the AFC North.

Jackson also looked like his old self in his first game back from injury, completing 18 of his 23 passes for 204 yards, four touchdowns and zero interceptions against the Miami Dolphins on Thursday Night Football.

Pittsburgh still has a little while until it comes face to face with Baltimore, though, as the two teams aren’t scheduled to play until Week 14 and then the regular season finale in Week 18, which could just prove to be for the division.

Either way, the Steelers still have a firm grip on the AFC North, and as long as they continue to take care of their own business, they won’t need to rely on anyone else like they have had to in recent years.
