Steelers injury update: TE Darnell Washington suffers broken arm v. Browns
Behind the Steel Curtain Behind the Steel Curtain

The Steelers received unfortunate injury news following an ugly loss to the Browns in Cleveland on Sunday, with head coach Mike Tomlin announcing in his postgame press conference that tight end Darnell Washington has a broken arm.

Washington was the only injury of note, with Tomlin calling the rest “bumps and bruises associated with play.”

The tight end left the game in the first quarter and didn’t return. On the play the break occurred, he could be seen holding his arm and grimacing.

This will almost certainly mark the end of Washington’s regular season. He enjoyed a breakout year in 2025, recording 29 catches for 349 yards and one touchdown. He ascended to the role of TE1 in terms of snaps and made a noticeable impact as a blocker.

Now without Washington and wide receiver D.K. Metcalf, the Steelers will need to win against the Ravens next week at home in order to win the AFC North and secure a playoff spot.
