The Steelers hosted offensive tackle David Sharpe for a visit Friday, per the NFL transactions wire.

Sharpe was a fourth-round pick in 2017 by the Oakland Raiders out of the University of Florida. He’s bounced around the league over his career, with stints with the Houston Texans, Washington, Baltimore Ravens, Carolina Panthers, New York Jets, and most recently, Los Angeles Chargers.

Sharpe has appeared in 46 career NFL games, but he has just six starts with his last one occurring in 2020. Over the last two seasons he’s logged one offensive snap.

The 6’6, 243-pound offensive lineman did not immediately sign with Pittsburgh following his visit.

Currently, the Steelers are down starting left tackle Broderick Jones (injured reserve), and swing tackle Calvin Anderson was ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens. Andrus Peat is expected to start in Week 14 for the Steelers.
