The Pittsburgh Steelers tried out 12 offensive and defensive linemen at UPMC Rooney Sports Complex on Tuesday, according to the NFL transactions page.

The 12 players β€” eight offense, four defense β€” were likely trying out for contracts for the 2026 season, as Steelers do not have pressing needs at either position at the present moment. The Steelers recently got Derrick Harmon back to their lineup on Sunday.

Teams can begin signing players to future contracts for 2026 as soon as the regular season ends, so scouting staffs usually try to get a leg up on that process by hosting players before the signing can begin.

Here’s a brief summary of each of the defensive players the Steelers brought in on Tuesday:

DT Ryder Anderson, 6-6, 280, 27 years old

Anderson was an undrafted free agent out of Indiana in 2022 and signed wit the New York Giants. He spent two seasons with the Giants, mostly on the practice squad, playing in seven games. He was waived in August 2024, and spent part of the 2024 season on the New Orleans Saints practice squad. The Saints cut him this August.

DT Keondre Coburn, 6-2, 332, 25 years old

Coburn was a sixth-round pick of the Kansas City Chiefs out of Texas in 2023. He was claimed off waivers the Denver Broncos in the middle of his rookie season, re-signed with the Chiefs, and then signed away by the Tennessee Titans, where he spent two seasons. He played 14 games and made one start for the Titans in 2024, recording 14 tackles. He was with the Las Vegas Raiders this summer and released in August.

DT Christopher Hinton, 6-4, 310, 25 years old

Hinton joined the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent in 2022, and bounced through three teams before catching on with the Los Angeles Chargers later in his rookie season. He played seven games for the Chargers from 2022-43, and was released by L.A. this August.

DT Jahvaree Ritzie, 6-4, 294, 22 years old

Ritzie was an undrafted free agent out of North Carolina last spring, signing with the New England Patriots. He spent some time on the New England practice squad this year before being released.
