Davante Adams would reportedly be fond of heading to the West Coast if he moves on from the New York Jets. That preference doesn’t particularly matter according to odds posted by sportsbetting.ag, theorizing his next stop.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have 4-to-1 odds to add Adams, second to only the Buffalo Bills (3/1). Following the Steelers are the Los Angeles Chargers (5/1), Washington Commanders (6/1), San Francisco 49ers (7/1), and New England Patriots and Denver Broncos (12/1).
With his longtime battery-mate Aaron Rodgers on his way out the Jets’ door, it doesn’t appear that Adams is interested in sticking around. Adams’ price tag is too steep for New York, which enters a new era with head coach and former Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter wrote Sunday on X that Adams would have to agree to a new deal to stay in Gotham green. Schefter was also told that Adams would like to return to the West Coast, too, where he grew up and played college ball at Fresno State.
Davante Adams had arrived with the Jets via a trade from Las Vegas in October and was productive in his 11 games in New York, averaging 77.6 receiving yards per.
It’s an interesting thought that the Jets would do business with the cross-state Bills, who are still chasing a mythical Super Bowl title and have been in charge of the AFC East. Buffalo, however, could be desperate knowing that it’s failed to get past Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs.
The Steelers, meanwhile, are expected to bolster their receiving room in some fashion. The position group is a large question mark at this point. George Pickens’ future with the team is up in the air, while no other Steelers wideout poses such a threat to opponents.
