Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Calvin Austin III is nearing his return to the field.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have been without speedy wide receiver Calvin Austin III for the past two games, but he revealed that could finally change this week.
When asked if he will play this week, Austin responded with a cheerful, “Hopefully,” according to Chris Adamski of the Tribune-Review.

That would certainly be a big boost for the Steelers offense as they prepare to face the 4-1-1 Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football.
Austin has played a key role in Pittsburgh’s offense, doing his best to help fill the void wide receiver George Pickens left when he was traded to the Dallas Cowboys this offseason. Through the first four games of the season, Austin recorded 10 catches for 139 yards and two touchdowns.
Austin’s injury update also aligns with what was reported leading up to the Steelers’ Thursday night matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals last week.
Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette said that while Austin was going to miss his second game in a row with a shoulder injury, Pittsburgh is expecting to have him back in Week 8.
Austin suffered his injury during the Steelers Week 4 win over the Minnesota Vikings in Dublin, Ireland. Many feared the injury was much worse than it turned out to be after he was quickly taken to a local hospital for imaging.
However, it turns out that Croke Park, unlike most NFL stadiums, does not have in-stadium x-ray capacity.
A fourth-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, Austin has recorded 63 receptions for 867 yards and seven touchdowns in his professional career.
