PITTSBURGH — Wide receiver Calvin Austin III will officially return to action for the Pittsburgh Steelers against the Green Bay Packers in Week 8, the team announced on Friday.
Austin, who missed the last two weeks with a shoulder injury that he suffered against the Minnesota Vikings in Dublin, Ireland, was a full participant in practice all week and will be good to suit up when the Steelers host the Packers on Sunday Night Football.
Austin started all of the first four games of the Steelers’ season and had emerged as the team’s clear No. 2 receiver. In four games, he was targeted 17 times and caught 10 for 139 yards and two touchdowns — all of which are still second to DK Metcalf among Steelers wide receivers, despite Austin missing the last two games.
While Austin will be returning to the lineup, veteran backup Scotty Miller will be out this week with a finger injury suffered in practice. That means that undrafted rookie Ke’Shawn Williams will likely stay in the lineup for at least one more week.
T.J. Watt was listed as a limited participant in practice on Thursday, Oct. 23, with a hip injury. He was a full participant on Friday and will play against the Green Bay Packers in Week 8.
Frazier suffered a left calf injury during the team’s Week 7 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. He was limited in practice on Wednesday, Oct. 22, did not practice on Thursday, Oct. 23 and was limited again on Friday, Oct. 24. He is questionable to play against the Green Bay Packers in Week 8.
