Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Patrick Queen, who left Sunday’s loss to the Buffalo Bills early with an injury, is believed to have suffered a lower back bruise, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Queen’s original diagnoses was a hip injury.

Rapoport notes that Queen is having tests, but the hope is it’s not a long-term injury.

After grabbing at his right hip, Queen signaled to his team’s sideline and dropped to the ground during the second quarter of Sunday evening’s matchup with the Bills.

Queen eventually got up and walked to the sideline beside trainers under his own power, albeit with a noticeable limp. He entered the blue medical tent on the sideline for a few minutes before exiting and doing high knees. He then walked to the Steelers’ locker room.

Queen was listed as questionable before being downgraded to out.

“Pat Queen had a contusion,” head coach Mike Tomlin said in his postgame press conference. “He wasn’t able to return so he wasn’t allowed to come back in.”

Queen wasn’t great in run defense before leaving Sunday’s game with a hip injury. Former Steelers offensive lineman Trai Essex even called him on X, which did not sit well with Queen.

“Never was a pro bowler or all pro but get on here yappin. Got carried your whole career back n forth from the bench stfu!” Queen wrote.

Queen also got into it with a fan on X.

“Oh right cause only fans are allowed to tweet got it! Haven’t missed a tackle in 3 games and it’s part of the game your favorite players off all time missed them too,” he wrote.
