PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers got good news on the health of running back Jaylen Warren, who is dressed and set to play against the Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football.
Warren woke up feeling ill on Monday and as a result, was a late addition to the team’s injury report with a questionable designation.
Warren took the field at Acrisure Stadium before warmups and got the green-light to participate at that time. It’s not clear if the illness will impact the amount of reps Warren is able to play.
If he misses any of his usual playing time, Kenneth Gainwell and Kaleb Johnson would be in line to absorb the additional reps.
Gainwell and Warren have split time for the Steelers all season, with Warren rushing 159 times for 652 yards and Gainwell rushing 80 times for 371 yards. Gainwell has primarily played on third downs and in no-huddle situations, while Warren has gotten the bulk of the playing time on first and second downs.
