PITTSBURGH — Running back Jaylen Warren has the green light to return from an ankle injury this week when the Pittsburgh Steelers visit the Chicago Bears.
Warren suffered the ankle injury early in the second half of last week’s Pittsburgh Steelers win over the Cincinnati Bengals. He said he was cleared to return, but did not do so as a precaution, with the Steelers winning by multiple scores in the second half.
Warren was limited in practice on Wednesday this week, but turned in back-to-back full practice sessions on Thursday and Friday, and he does not have an injury status for Sunday’s game.
When Warren was out, Kenneth Gainwell manned the running back position for the Steelers, and even though Warren has been cleared to play, it’s possible that Gainwell could see an elevated level of participation this week after his two-touchdown game against the Bengals.
