PITTSBURGH — Tight end Darnell Washington returned to practice for the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday, after unexpectedly missing the team’s first practice of Week 10 on Wednesday with a foot injury.

Washington was listed as not practicing in the first session of the week, but returned on Thursday, as seen in the above photograph.

The Steelers have not officially announced their injury report for Thursday yet, but Washington’s return to practice is certainly a positive sign for his chances of suiting up against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.

Washington finished the team’s last game, a win over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, without apparent injury, catching four passes for 43 yards.

The third-year tight end has become a much bigger part of the Pittsburgh offense this season, catching 13 passes for 127 yards on the season. The team’s jumbo package featuring Washington and extra offensive lineman Spencer Anderson has been a force in the run game, as well.
