PITTSBURGH — Calvin Austin III (shoulder) wasn’t able to help the Pittsburgh Steelers during their 23-9 home win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. His availability for Thursday night’s trip to face the Cincinnati Bengals is currently unclear.

“We’ll see what this week looks like” for Calvin Austin III, Tomlin said during a press conference Monday at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex.

Scotty Miller and Roman Wilson helped fill in for Austin during the victory over the Browns. The latter had a catch for 12 yards.

“To open people,” Tomlin said when asked who he’d like to see the ball go to other than DK Metcalf in Austin’s absence.

Metcalf led the Steelers with 95 yards on four receptions on Sunday. He caught a touchdown pass from Aaron Rodgers for the third game in a row.

Austin was asked last week whether he thinks his injury could land him on the injured reserve, which doesn’t seem like an option at this point.

“I have no clue about that,” Austin said. “I’m just taking it a day at a time, listening to the medical staff, Coach T., and whenever that time is, I’ll be ready.”
