Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf did not taking losing to the Seattle Seahawks very well.

PITTSBURGH — Week 2 was supposed to be Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf’s chance to get his revenge on his former team. However, that is far from what happened as the Seattle Seahawks dominated the Steelers in a 31-17 win.

Metcalf opened up about the loss after the game and admitted it is not sitting well with him.

“I hate losing, whether it’s a peewee football team or the Seahawks, I hate losing,” Metcalf said. “I love my old teammates but I hate losing.”

Metcalf had downplayed the revenge game storylines leading up to the matchup.

“Y’all gonna make it a big deal, but I’m not,” Metcalf told reporters last week.

Metcalf’s demeanor on the field Sunday said otherwise, though. Tensions were high between Metcalf and Seahawks cornerback Riq Woolen on multiple occasions.

Metcalf’s impact on the game was a bit disappointing, too. Despite finding the end zone near the end of the first half, he finished the afternoon with just three catches for 20 yards.

It was quite the dip in production from that of a week ago when he reeled in four of his seven targets for a team-high 83 yards against the New York Jets.

Still, Metcalf was the focal point of the Steelers’ pass attack and will continue to be just that as the season progresses.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers expects nothing less from Metcalf the rest of the way.

“He’s about the right stuff,” Rodgers said. “He cares about it enough to watch the film and put in the time and take notes and ask questions and come over and sit next to me during the week.”

Pittsburgh goes back on the road to take on the New England Patriots (1-1) in Week 3.
