The Pittsburgh Steelers are down to two representatives at the 2026 NFL Pro Bowl Games, as defensive back Jalen Ramsey has pulled out of participating in the event, which will be held the week of Super Bowl LX in San Francisco.
Outside linebacker T.J. Watt and special teamer Ben Skowronek were also voted onto the AFC team for the Pro Bowl Games, which will be held in a studio instead of a football stadium for the first time this year. Connor Heyward was named an alternate as a fullback, but Baltimore Ravens starter Patrick Ricard appears set to attend.
Ramsey was selected to the Pro Bowl in his first season with the Steelers, and after playing a handful of positions on defense. He started out playing in the slot, spent some time at outside cornerback, and then after DeShon Elliott suffered a badly hyperextended knee earlier this season, Ramsey moved to the back end of the defense, bringing a steadying presence at the safety position.
The 31-year-old has been a Pro Bowler seven times previously during his career, with the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2017-18, Los Angeles Rams from 2019-22 and Miami Dolphins in 2023.
The Steelers traded for Ramsey, along with Jonnu Smith, in deal with the Dolphins that sent Minkah Fitzpatrick to Miami this offseason. Ramsey ended up being selected over Fitzpatrick for AFC Pro Bowl honors.
With the Steelers safety pulling out, Houston Texans safety Calen Bullock will replace him in the Pro Bowl Games.
Ramsey has three seasons left on his contract with the Steelers, but as of right now, has no guaranteed money remaining on his contract. $3.5 million of his 2026 salary will guarantee in March, and he is owed a $7.4 million option bonus in August.
