One of the Pittsburgh Steelers defenders is soaking up as much knowledge as possible from Aaron Donald this offseason.
The Pittsburgh Steelers signed safety Jaquan Brisker in free agency this offseason, and it is safe to say he is taking his new opportunity very seriously.
Brisker recently worked out with former Pitt and Los Angeles Rams legend Aaron Donald and soaked up as much knowledge as he could from the three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year.
Brisker is joining Pittsburgh after spending the first four years of his NFL career with the Chicago Bears, who selected him in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
Over the last four years in the league, he has recorded 342 tackles, seven sacks, four forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, 21 passes defensed and four interceptions.
Brisker did that all while displaying his versatility, playing almost the same amount of snaps at free safety (1,270) as he did in the box (1,290), according to Pro Football Focus.
However, Brisker is now expected to spend most of his time at free safety, with DeShon Elliot starting on the strong side — an opportunity he is more than ready for.
“Yeah, I am very excited,” Brisker said at OTAs. “I mean, we got a lot of different things, a lot of different personnel and things like that, and just not showing what we’re going to do. Having a little disguise to it or sometimes we’ll just be in it, but it’s been giving us a lot of flexibility.”
If Brisker can add even more to his game after spending some of his offseason with Donald, the Steelers could be getting an absolute steal in their one-year, $5.5 million investment in Brisker.
A native of Pittsburgh, PA, Brisker attended Penn State, where he had 151 tackles, 13 passes defensed and five interceptions from 2019-21.
