The New Orleans Saints are expected to play a game in Paris, as early as the 2026 regular season, according to their team president Dennis Lauscha. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports the NFL and stadium officials in Paris are working to finalize a deal to bring the Saints to Paris, with an announcement likely in the coming weeks.
The Steelers are scheduled to play the Saints in New Orleans in 2026, so Pittsburgh could be a potential opponent. With the Steelers playing in Dublin this season, it’s probably unlikely they’ll have another game in Europe in 2026, but it’s not impossible.
“You might hear in the next couple weeks that we might be having a game internationally, and that game may be in Paris,” Lauscha said at the Greater New Orleans Quarterback Club on Tuesday, via Jeff Duncan of nola.com. “We have the rights to the country of France and Monaco, so that makes so much sense, we think. We’re really excited about that [possibility].”
Stade de France is expected to be the stadium for the Saints’ game in Paris. It seats 80,000.

The first-ever NFL regular season game in Ireland received massive ratings. According to NFL Media, the Steelers-Vikings game averaged 7.9 million viewers (TV+Digital), making it the second-most NFL Network watched game ever. Only the Dolphins-Chiefs game in Germany in 2023 had better ratings.
It was up +68% vs. NFL Network’s 2024 International Games average. The Vikings-Steelers averaged over 9 million viewers from 12:30 p.m. ET until end of game.
Attendance at Croke Park for the Steelers-Vikings game on Sunday was a whopping 74,512. To say the least, the atmosphere was electric for the first NFL regular season game in Ireland.
With the Steelers’ game in Ireland receiving astronomical numbers in attendance and ratings, the league would probably be tempted to highlight the Steelers in the first-ever NFL game in France against the Saints.
Commissioner Roger Goodell has confirmed the NFL is returning to Mexico City in 2026 for the first time since 2022. With the Steelers having an enormous fanbase in Mexico, they could also be considered to play in that international game. The Steelers have eight home games in 2026, so they wouldn’t be the host team for the Mexico international game, however.
